MacBook Pro 2026 with OLED Displays: Release Date, What to Expect from It

Apple has no plans to slow down the production of new laptops and is already actively preparing the release of a new product for fans of the Pro line - MacBook Pro 2026 with OLED displays. In this article, we will take a closer look at what is known about this model and why it is worth waiting for it or choosing the recently launched MacBook models.

MacBook Pro M6 2026 release date

The release date of the MacBook Pro 2026 with OLED displays is scheduled for 2026. Traditionally, Cupertino launches Pro models no earlier than the end of October or early November, so the MacBook Pro should be expected in late October or early November 2026.

What to expect from the MacBook Pro 2026

Although the MacBook will be released in more than a year, we already know some of the features that are guaranteed to make the MacBook Pro 2026 one of the most anticipated new products of 2026.

OLED display

In 2026, Apple's suppliers will have enough capabilities to produce OLED displays specially adapted for laptops and use them in the new MacBook Pro line, according to display analyst Ross Young.

Currently, all models that have been released since 2021 have mini-LED screens (no changes are expected in the MacBook Pro model with the M5 chip). So which changes can be expected  for users? For the new Apple MacBook Pro M6, OLED technology provides brighter colors, deeper blacks, better contrast, and higher energy efficiency, which in turn will extend battery life.

2026 MacBook Pro redesign

Another advantage of using OLED displays is the ability to make the laptop itself much thinner. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the iPad tablet based on the M4 chip is "the beginning of a new class of Apple devices," meaning that it is much thinner. It is worth mentioning that the MacBook Pro models that have been released since 2021 are much heavier than the previous ones due to the return of ports that were not available in previous models. It is not yet known whether the additional ports will be available this time, or whether Cupertino will rework the  2026 MacBook Pro redesign in a different way so that it will be possible to keep the ports.

New Punch-Hole Camera

One of the disadvantages of the Pro line from 2021, which users are a bit tired of, is the notch on the screen. So, good news: according to Omdia, the camera will be hidden behind the holes at the top of the display, not behind the notch. In other words, the 2026 MacBook Pro without a notch will provide more visible pixels on the screen, making the display design smoother and more coherent.

New Cellular Connectivity Modem

So far, the company has already released the iPhone SE with a new modem chip that will be added to the new iPad and iPhone 17 Air - C1. It is an improved version of this chip that the company considers for the possible addition of a second-generation modem - most likely C2 - to the future Mac as early as 2026, hinting at the potential of a cellular MacBook Pro 2026  in the same year.

Currently, Apple's first C1 chip does not support the rare mmWave 5G, but works with the more common sub-6 GHz. Thanks to this, the company was able to reduce the space for the modem and use more battery space. However, the second-generation version will support faster mmWave technology.

M6 Series Chip

And, of course, the M6 chip itself will be the icing on the cake for the new MacBook Pro 2026.

As you know, Apple is planning to use a new packaging technology called WMCM (Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module), which allows combining several chips into one. This means that the processor, graphics, RAM, and neural network module of Apple MacBook Pro M6 will work even faster and more efficiently. If the company implements this approach, the M6 could become the first 2-nm chip from Apple, making it the most powerful in its series.

Undoubtedly, more details will be revealed closer to the release of the MacBook Pro 2026 based on the M6 chip. It is important to note that the Pro line model to be released this year will be equipped with the M5 chip. In October, Apple plans to update the MacBook Pro by releasing models with M5. The new chip will be manufactured using an advanced 3nm process, which will make it more powerful and energy efficient than M4.
